Short Bio

Husnain Mubarik is a Senior Member of Technical Staff in the Advanced Rendering Research group at AMD, specializing in Graphics and ML. His expertise involves hardware acceleration for neural graphics and generative AI applications. During his Ph.D., Husnain closely worked with research teams from Intel Labs as a research intern. His work has earned IEEE Micro Top Picks - Honorable Mentions and inclusion in ISCA’s 50-year retrospective. He was named a Rising Star in Machine Learning and Systems in 2023 and has received the prestigious Dan Vivoli Endowed Fellowship. Husnain holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he completed his dissertation under the guidance of Prof. Rakesh Kumar, focusing on performance optimizations in neural graphics and emerging hardware systems. Before joining UIUC as a Ph.D. candidate, Husnain completed his bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan.
